Laguna Components Policy Statement

8/30/07

To Whom It May Concern:

Laguna Components agrees completely with the recent decision to require manufacture’s certificates on all electronic components. With the influx of counterfeit and otherwise illegitimate and unreliable components into the worldwide supply chain, this is a necessary new requirement.

In the process of implementing this new requirement we have found four (4) exceptions for which we have developed new policies.

  • Exception 1 (Obsolete) - Military grade components which are obsolete do not carry manufacture certificates.
  • Exception 2 (Allocated) - Military grade components which are allocated do not carry manufacture certificates.
  • Exception 3 (Commercial) - Commercial grade components do not carry manufacture certificates.
  • Exception 4 (Counterfeit Certificates) - Components known to have counterfeit certificates.

Laguna Components has developed the following policies for dealing with these four exceptions to the manufacturer’s certificate requirement.

Laguna Components Testing Policy
To ensure the liability of components that fall within these exceptions, Laguna Components requires these components to be certified by a qualified testing facility, unless a waiver of this policy is signed by our customer.

Laguna Components Escrow Policy
To protect our customers’ investments, components that fall within these exceptions are purchased through a valid escrow service, unless a waiver of this policy is signed by our customer.
